MiraCosta College Presents: Piano Week Piano Week at MiraCosta College will be happening from October 8–14. Please join us for these upcoming performances: Jaeryoung & Friends in Concert Monday, October 8, 6:30 p.m. Professor Jaeryoung Lee will share her jazz interpretation of music from movies like The Wizard of Oz. She will be joined by Professor Matt Falker and other MiraCosta College music faculty. Alina Kiryayeva Thursday, October 11, 7:30 p.m. Acclaimed Ukrainian musician Alina Kiryayeva will present “Modern Piano.” This lecture-recital will include discussion of the bridge between classical and popular music and showcase her outstandingskills as a concert pianist. The Icons of Classical Music Saturday, October 13, 7:30 p.m. Sunday, October 14, 3 p.m. The MiraCosta College Symphony Orchestra would like to welcome you to an evening with some of the most iconic, and well-recognized music in the classical repertoire. In addition to performing the might Fifth Symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven, we will also be joined by Dr. Wan-Chin Chang as piano soloist performing Sergei Rachmaninoff’s passionate work Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini. The orchestra will complete the concert with Verdi’s The Force of Destiny overture. We hope that you can join us for this wonderful evening of music. Directed by Branden Muresan.
