National Prescription Drug Take Back Day “National Prescription Drug Take Back Day” is October 27th. Prescription drug abuse is the nation’s fastest growing drug problem. Propelled by an increase in prescription narcotics, overdoses drug deaths now outnumber traffic fatalities in the United States. The easiest place to get prescription drugs is in someone’s medicine cabinet and a lot of us tend to keep unused or expired medication in our homes. The only safe way to dispose of medications and assure they don’t end up in our water supply or god forbid in someone’s hands that shouldn’t have them, is to safely dispose of them is at the National Take Back Day or a permanent Drop Box.
