MiraCosta College Theatre Presents Hay Fever

MiraCosta College Theatre Presents Hay Fever

The MiraCosta College Theatre Department presents Hay Fever written by Noël Coward. The play opens September 28 at the MiraCosta College Theatre, located at 1 Barnard Drive, Oceanside. Eric Bishop will direct.

Retired stage star Judith Bliss, her novelist husband, and their two Bohemian adult children have each invited houseguests for the weekend. But as the Blisses indulge their artistic eccentricities in a hilarious whirlwind of flirtation and histrionics, the guests begin to wonder if they’ve landed in a madhouse—and if they can survive with their own wits intact. Set in an English country house in the 1920s, Noël Coward’s hilarious comedy of bad manners is a favorite amongst theatre goers.

“Hay Fever is Noël Coward’s funniest play,” explains director Bishop. “It pokes fun at artists’ free expression, creativity, individuality, and sometimes Bohemian approach to life. I have thoroughly enjoyed working collaboratively with this talented group of student actors and designers. I hope our audiences will enjoy the words and wit of Noël Coward as much as I have,” said Bishop.

Performance dates are scheduled for September 28, 29, and October 4, 5, and 6, at 7:30 p.m. and September 30, and October 6 and 7, at 2 p.m. General admission is $16; seniors/staff, $13; students, $11. A preview performance is scheduled for September 9 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the preview performance are $11 for all seats. Children under the age of 5 are not admitted to the theatre. Seating is reserved.

Tickets are available online at miracosta.edu/buytix or by calling the MiraCosta College Box Office at 760.795.6815.
