English Language Institute at MiraCosta College The English Language Institute (ELI) offers international students the opportunity to increase their English language proficiency and develop the skills needed to succeed at a college or university in the United States. This eight-week, intensive English-as-a-second-language program provides individualized instruction with small class sizes. The program is designed for students with a minimum of one year of English language training at high school or college level. This class may not be appropriate for advanced ESL students or students with a TOEFL score greater than 500 paper-based or 46 IBT. Students must be at least 18 years old or meet our minor policy requirements. Our International Student Office will issue I-20s. We accept students with an F1 or B visitor visa or any visa where “enrichment” or “study” is permissible. MiraCosta College is now accepting applications for fall 2018 sessions. Program dates are August 20–October 12. Fee: $1,895 (instruction, application fee, books, and student services). Health insurance is an optional fee of $365.
