MiraCosta College Offers Community Education Enrichment Course in Scuba Diving Instruction Scuba Diving Instructor Program. MiraCosta College Community Education and Workforce Development now offers a rigorous GI Bill® funded Professional Scuba Diving Instructor Program. We have created a 489-hour course that prepares students for Professional Association of Diving Instructor (PADI) membership and certification. The program includes the following courses: open water, advanced open water, emergency first response, rescue diver, dive master, assistant instructor, emergency first response instructor, cylinder inspector and technician, HAS instructor, open water SCUBA instructor and MSDT prep. This program is self-paced. To receive certificates, students must complete all classes and dives. Ongoing Fee: $14,515 (includes all coursework, boat dives, materials and scuba gear) Additional fees for PADI application, membership and certification will be required; these fees are the responsibility of the student and are to be paid directly to PADI or the certifying agency.
