THE STUART FOUNDATION INVESTS $200,000 IN THE OCEANSIDE PROMISE PARTNERSHIP AND ORGANIZATIONAL CAPACITY The Stuart Foundation's board of directors recently approved a $200,000 grant to support the Oceanside Promise partners in achieving their vision of every child and student reaching their fullest potential in college, career, and life. The grant will stabilize the preliminary organizational capacity needed to advance the Oceanside Promise's four goals areas: Safety, Health & Well-being, Early Childhood Success, College & Career Readiness, and Postsecondary Completion. “The Stuart Foundation’s investment in the Oceanside Promise is a vote of confidence in the cross-sector partnership’s unique, results-driven approach to improving the social, emotional, and academic success of children and students,” explained Jonathan Raymond, president. “We partner with communities that share our commitment to the whole child and the Oceanside Promise is positioned to be a galvanizing force to that end throughout the Oceanside community.” Thanks to the Foundation's support, the nonprofit board and Leadership Table partners of the Oceanside Promise hired Dr. Nicole Magnuson, executive director, to continue in her leadership role for the next year. As the executive director, Dr. Magnuson will work with the nonprofit board and Oceanside Promise partners to align community programs, services, and resources to better support the success of Oceanside's children and youth from cradle to college and through career. In addition, she will help build organizational capacity, raise resources, and plan for the long-term sustainability of the data-informed, results-focused partnership. "I am honored to continue supporting such an amazing group of leaders and organizations who are deeply committed to the success of Oceanside's children, youth, and families," commented Dr. Magnuson. "A strong foundation has been laid for the Oceanside Promise and we have only scratched the surface on the positive impact the partnership will have on children's lives from the earliest years through postsecondary completion." The Stuart Foundation grant calls for the Oceanside Promise to raise matching funds and to meet key benchmarks that move the Early Childhood Success and the College & Career Readiness Action Networks toward aligned impact. In addition, the Oceanside Promise partners plan to launch the Safety, Health & Well-being action network by early 2019. To support the match challenge with a donation, visit OceansidePromise.org.
