Great pool and spa makes it worth the $39.99 a month! I have met many new friends too!

This gym is large, well ventilated, and has plenty of equipment where even the busy times doesn't get too overcrowded. So if you're looking for just a gym to use some equipment, this will do the trick.
When I first joined years ago, they were building a Pilates room that never opened (at least within 6 months of when it was supposed to open). I stopped going and recently when I came back, the Pilates was replaced with a cryo room. They also replaced the basketball court with a PRT room that they use for small group classes (limit 8 per class) that are supposed to be akin to personal training. Don't ask me what PRT stands for, I don't know and the employees couldn't tell me either. The PRT classes are similar to the exercises of F45 with the pace of OrangeTheory. We wanted personal training with focus on form to prevent injury, but they don't do a lot of form correction. It's still a good class, but just a much higher price point than what I can get in other group fitness classes.
Be careful what you pay for there. All the horror stories about the charges for personal training you find online are pretty accurate. We have been waiting over three weeks for a refund on the enrollment fee that was supposed to be waived for January, and every time I talk to someone, they say they can't process the refund, and the people who can process the refund are always conveniently not available no matter what day or time I call or visit. When I finally track them down, I've been told multiple times it's been processed and will take 3-5 business days, it's been three weeks of nothing but lies.Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 3 - Erin W.CA, CA0171Jan 15, 2024Updated review
I like the actual gym and equipment, which are excellent and always in working order. If you're just going to work out and use weights/cardio, it's A-ok. The bathrooms are generally clean and sufficient, but some broken parts of stalls make it sub-par at times.
The real problems come with the personal training and the kids klub. I wouldn't trust the personal training- it's highly unorganized and I've been promised things multiple times that didn't pan out. They have such a high turnover-over with trainers and managers that it's a problem and I won't ever trust them again for anything over my gym membership payment.
If you have kids, I'd stay away from this disgusting kids klub in Oceanside. It smells, doesn't seem to have proper ventilation or air conditioning, and the babysitters seem resentful. I'm sure they're not paid nearly enough. I would pay more for this service if it meant a cleaner space snd happier employees. My son refuses to go in there, and I can't blame him. (The vista kids club and others we've visited have been less crowded and better)
Lastly, I'm glad they offer yoga and I enjoy the two kathy's classes on Mondays, but Larissa is not a good instructor. She has a lot of classes during prime times. She's uninspiring and treats yoga like a sport rather than anything close to a spiritual practice. I really hope there can be a better instructor to replace her in the future.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1Jun 25, 2022Previous reviewI was a member of LA Fitness for 15 years in the past pre-pandemic, and now I joined again after working out at home the past 2 years.
This location is strong- has updated equipment and good instructors.
Today I reluctantly used my 1-hour personal trainer session that you receive with a new membership. In the past I wasn't impressed with the personal training I received at another location, but It turned out to be very helpful, thanks to the head trainer Ryan Mays. He was very personable, which matters a lot to me. I feel like he listened to what I wanted and gave me useful tips about the amount of protein I might need and what exercises and stretching to do to better my posture. I'm glad he didn't put too much pressure on me to do stuff too far out of my comfort zone. I recommend Ryan as a trainer and yoga at this location. - John S.Fullerton, CA126730Oct 24, 2023Updated review
I have been going to this place for a couple of years now and wow has it gotten bad. Starting with the women's locker room, there are numerous sinks that the water barely comes out and 2 sinks that are broken. The sinks are also dirty, paper towels thrown on the floor and all over the counter, and one paper towel dispenser doesn't work. The worst thing about the ladies locker room in the smell in the ladies room, as soon as you walk in a smell of rotten fish hits you in the face, I had to hold my breath as I went to the bathroom. This has been weeks that this smell is there and it's getting worse. Another member told me that she reported it numerous times and nothing has changed.
There is absolutely no supervision by any manager or staff member that I e ever seen.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0Jan 2, 2022Previous reviewToday I went to workout and despite this sign that's in your face when you walk in it's completely ignored. Even the front desk girl had her's below her nose.
I would say that maybe a total of 5% of the members were wearing a mask. It's full of anti-maskers that do not care whether they get infected and or infect someone else. If you're concerned about getting infected stay home and workout or take your chances because management are not following the guidelines. - Oct 13, 2023
This gym is quite big and has plenty of machines to work out on. peak hours are usually around 9am for those parents who like to work out in the am. Then again at lunch and 5pm for the working crowd. Bathrooms are hit or miss on cleanliness. Has a big pool to do laps and many fitness classes to attend. you can get a 3 day pass to try it out and see if it's for you.

Clean gym, great classes, and never too crowded. My issue is management. I was working out on a cardio machine and the cleaning crew proceeded to mop the floor in front of me. Meanwhile, I'm literally trying to catch my breath with cleaning product fumes I'm inhaling. I asked to speak to management, and she immediately got defensive! I asked why were they cleaning the floor while people were on the machines and she just proceeded to tell me they had no other time otherwise, they would have to shut that area down, she kept cutting me off. No sympathy, no "I'm sorry about that with reason of why"... Just defensive and rude.
She clearly has poor management skills. Her communication style was off putting and dismissive.
So basically, my gym session smelled like cleaning products topped with a stank attitude. Not the vibe.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Jenah L.Boulder, CO5274Feb 7, 2024
Dirty unkempt facilities. None of the machines are routinely wiped down, leaving grease and grime caked on to the machines. The gym is often crowded leaving little room to get in a satisfactory workout. I would otherwise join a different gym however it is the "nicest" gym in the region. Oh well.

Do not recommend their daycare and their customer service is faulty and unreliable. This establishment is a huge joke.

initial vibe was rude and felt like a car dealership and the staff were very short and dismissive of new and repeating guests. without showing me the gym at all, the sales rep expected me to sign a membership and was very rude when I denied. As I was leaving I could hear the sales rep gossiping about me(a guest) to his coworker, as if I made his shift difficult. They are not afraid to embarrass new guests and force a sale at the expense of the guests dignity.

This gym is a flagship location. The staff is extremely professional and the facility is well run. The patrons are serious about their workouts and they get their money's worth. I was only a guest, but if I lived near this gym I would join in a heartbeat.
