Event Description: Star Theatre Company presents their Summer Musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie! Director: David Schulz Music Director: Sandra Kopitzke Choreographer: Danielle Levas Thoroughly Modern Millie show tells the story of Millie Dillmount, a fearless young lady fresh from Salina, Kansas, determined to experience life in the Big Apple during the rip-roaring Twenties. With high spirits and wearing one of those new high hemlines, she arrives in New York to test the "modern" ideas she had been reading about back in Kansas and sets out to pursue her dream of becoming "thoroughly modern" and marrying for money instead of love. It's a city full of intrigue & jazz- a time when women were entering the workforce and the rules of love and social behavior were changing forever. Filled with frisky flappers, dashing leading men and a dragon-lady of a villainess that audiences will love to hate! Thoroughly Modern Millie is a perfectly constructed evening of madcap merriment. And with the role of Millie Dillmount, musical theatre has found a new heroine for the ages. Based on the popular movie, the stage version of Thoroughly Modern Millie includes a full score of new songs and bright dance numbers. Show runs July 22-31. Friday & Saturday nights at 7:30pm, Saturday & Sunday Matinees at 2pm, with a Special $10 Show Thursday night July 28th at 7:30pm.
