Event Description: Christmas Returns to the Mission in July! What says summer more than carnival rides, sno-cones, and rummage sales? How about all of that plus a whole lot of Christmas shopping! The annual Old Mission Montessori School (OMMS) "Christmas in July" Artisan Fair and Carnival returns to Oceanside for the 34th year. Drawing people from all across southern CA, this North County tradition showcases the handmade wares of more than 150 artisans who are there to sell everything from seasonal decorations to candles to jewelry. Returning this year is a huge carnival run by Christiansen Amusements. Top that off with a variety of foods, local talent, and a spectacular kids' zone, and you have a community event that draws artists, families, and visitors from across southern California and beyond. In addition to artisan booths, the North County tradition boasts a farmers' market full of fresh flowers and locally grown fruits and vegetables; amazing deals at the popular Sister Gladys' rummage sale; and homemade baked goods, ethnic foods, and traditional festival favorites such as sno-cones and hotdogs. Local bands, dancers, and karate studios entertain shoppers throughout the weekend. The live auction on Sunday at 1PM always gets people excited - -especially when they scoop up some great deals. This year, the Artisan Fair will take place on Saturday, July 9th and Sunday, July 10th. The carnival will bring festive rides and exciting games immediately adjacent to the Artisan Fair beginning Friday, July 8th from 5-10 PM through Sunday July 10th.
