Event Description: Enjoy North County’s best Irish band and top Irish dance schools all on one stage! Where else will you find such a rare opportunity but onstage of historic Sunshine Brooks Theatre, 217 North Coast Hwy in Oceanside, 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, Saturday, March 5, 2011. The program combines all elements that help fully embrace the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day holidays: -----IRISH MUSIC In addition to Celtic songs (some over 300 y...ears old) done in an upbeat / foot-stomping tempo by this popular North County band, The Bad Blokes will also perform newer Irish Rock tunes and even some pieces by The Beatles. Preview this group’s music on their MySpace page below. -----IRISH DANCE Some solo, some in groups, dancers of all ages will stomp jigs, reels, hornpipe in front of the audience. Performers are from North County’s top schools: Butler-Fearon-O'Connor School of Irish Dance, Rose-Ritchie Academy of Irish Dance, and others. Young audience will be particularly impressed and inspired by their skills. So make sure to bring the kids. -----IRISH BEER Of course, St. Patrick’s Day celebration is going to include some beer-drinking songs by the Bad Blokes, too. Mature guests may enjoy beer in the lobby for donation. Admission tickets: $7 for adults, $5 for children. Brooks guests with admission tickets will receive a special package deal to Beachside Grill (next door) to treat themselves to Irish tacos and Shepherd's pie.
