Event Description: Be invigorated as never before! Take the Polar Plunge into the Pacific Ocean to benefit the Special Olympics Southern California San Diego County athletes! On Saturday February 19th, Law Enforcement agencies as well as members from the community will jump into the 60 degree ocean to raise money, win rewards and have a good time! The Oceanside and Carlsbad Police Department's have long been fundraising partners with Special Olympics. This is the 5th annual Polar Plunge and the goal is to raise $20,000 for Special Olympics San Diego County athletes. We will begin with registration followed by a short program at 8:30am then take the plunge at 10am. Once we are done at 11:30, we encourage everyone to have lunch at Joe's Crab Shack, about a mile away. As one of our sponsors, Joe's Crab Shack will be donating a portion of all Polar Plunge Participant proceeds that day to Special Olympics!
