Event Description: The LA Weekly calls them “cross pollinated gypsy music….one of the most thrilling young acts on the planet.” Formed in 2005 and playing everywhere from the hippest LA clubs to cultural centers and museums, this lively and unique ensemble includes two explosive violins; the world's best slap bass player; a musical saw; flamenco and gypsy jazz guitar; opera, jazz and gypsy vocals; an accordion and one little banjolele. From the smoky cafes of Bucharest to the Gypsy caravans of yesterday, the band tackles everything from French hot jazz to Flamenco to wild Serbian and Transylvanian gypsy anthems, and oddball originals. Their music is a wild ride and a mesmerizing good time! A must see for world music lovers. Tickets are $15.00 for all ages and are available at the Oceanside Civic Center Library and Mission Branch Library check-out desks. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and it is open seating.
