Event Description: MiraCosta College Theatre Department presents the drama, These Shining Lives, a true story written by Melanie Marnich. The play opens November 11 at the MiraCosta College Theatre, located at 1 Barnard Drive, Oceanside. Eric Bishop will direct. The play centers on four women—they have good jobs painting glow-in-the-dark watch faces at Chicago’s Radium Dial Company, and the 1920s seem full of promise. The war is over, the economy booming, and the women celebrate their newly found prosperity. Tragedy comes when the women begin falling ill, one by one, with mystifying ailments. When the cause of their symptoms finally becomes clear, the women must find a way to deal with their own inconvenient truth: that the job they love has betrayed them. Play dates are scheduled for November 11, 12, 17, 18 and 19 at 7:30 p.m. and November 13, 19 and 20 at 2 p.m. A preview performance is scheduled for November 10 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the preview performance are $11 for all seats.
