Event Description: The Friends of the Oceanside Public Library and San Diego’s best-known language and trivia enthusiast, Richard Lederer, have once again partnered to bring a free event to local lovers of the Library! As part of United for Libraries’ National Friends of Libraries Week, the San Diego Union-Tribune’s own Richard Lederer will present Fascinating Facts About Our Presidents, a “treasury of insights into the feats, fates, families, foibles, and firsts of our American presidents, including the patterns of their elections.” This singular event will take place at the Civic Center Library at 330 N. Coast Highway on Saturday, October 29 at 2:00 p.m. Patrons should reserve their seating by registering at FascinatingFactsWithDrLederer.eventbrite.com, as space will be limited. There will be no charge for this event, but donations will be welcomed and memberships to the Friends of the Oceanside Public Library will be offered for a limited time in a Buy One, Get One Free deal. Root Beer Floats will be offered as refreshment. Richard Lederer is the author of more than 40 books about language, history, and humor, including his best-selling Anguished English series and his current books, Amazing Words, Lederer on Language and Monsters Unchained! Dr. Lederer's column "Lederer on Language" appears weekly in the San Diego Union-Tribune, and he is a founding co-host of "A Way With Words" on KPBS Public Radio. He has been named International Punster of the Year and Toastmasters International's Golden Gavel winner. The Friends of the Oceanside Public Library is a 501(c)3 nonprofit and an all-volunteer organization.
