Event Description: Oceanside Museum of Art is a regional museum devoted to exhibiting the finest art of Southern California. It is only natural that OMA collaborate with a collective of eight talented graduate students at University of California, San Diego for the upcoming exhibition San Diego NOW: Eight UCSD Visual Artists opening Friday, November 20, 2009. The exhibition presents the work of artists James Enos, Jesse Mockrin, Zac Monday, Omar Pimienta, Lesha Maria Rodriguez, Tim Schwartz, Julia Westerbeke, and Suzanne Wright. The diverse mediums used by each artist display an exciting sampling of approaches from video, to painting, photography, sculpture and performance. A preview reception combined with Art After Dark: The Zodiac Lounge introduces the exhibition on Friday, November 20th from 7:00-10:00 p.m. Admission is $15 or $10 for OMA members and includes, art, music, multimedia entertainment, art activities, food from Harney Sushi and Santino’s pizza, beer from Lost Abbey Brewery, and wine tasting from PCP Wine International.
