Event Description: “Meet the Artist” Les Perhacs on Saturday, December 12th at 2:00 p.m. “Meet the Artist” is free with museum admission and complimentary for members of Oceanside Museum of Art as a benefit of membership. Perhacs will discuss his forty-five year journey as an artist. Beginning with his education at Pratt Institute in New York where he studied under David Smith, Willem & Elaine de Kooning, and Salvador Dali, to his studies at Chouinard Art Institute, his career as an industrial designer and a toy designer, and his time collecting specimens for Marineland of the Pacific and studying ravens for UCLA. All of these important experiences have culminated in this major series of work. His work can be found in public and private collections around the nation including the San Diego International Airport, Whatcom Museum in Washington and the Frye Art Museum in Seattle.
