Event Description: Did You Know? 1 out of 4 college women experience assault or attempted rape. 1 out of 3 women will be assaulted during her lifetime. In this 2 hour workshop, you will learn how to avoid being a target, how to prepare for a possible attack, how to keep a clear mind and how to use your natural strengths to retaliate effectively and decisively. This is a ‘hands-on‘ workshop where you will practice 3 simple principles of movement against a variety of assault scenarios. The workshop will be held on Thursday November 6, 2009 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at Shen Kung Fu Academy (www.shenkungfu.com) located at 1682 Ord Way, Oceanside, California. Open to all Women and Teens. Your instructor, Mario Figueroa has over 25 years of experience in martial arts and self-defense and is chief instructor at Shen Kung Fu Academy. He teaches and consults internationally, is regularly featured in martial arts publications and teaches Tai Chi & Chi Kung at world-renowned Cal-A-Vie spa in Fallbrook.
