Event Description: Dining, dancing, live auction bidding thrills, and the largest TV screen in Avalon; all this and more will be enjoyed at the historic Casino Ballroom on Catalina Island! The building is home to the first movie theater designed for motion pictures so how appropriate that we now host our night of Oscar appreciation and fundraising for our local hospital in this one of a kind venue. In 2014 Avalon entertained over 600,000 visitors and the hospital received over 1900 emergency patients - 40% of whom were non-residents. Funds raised will help us build our savings to be used for a complete remodel or possibly a new facility to meet the mandatory seismic upgrade deadline of 2030.
