Event Description:
North County African American Women’s Association (NCAAWA) will stage its annual signature event on October 24, 2015 in Oceanside with the incomparable Gentlemen's Gourmet to be held at St. Margaret's Hall, 4300 Oceanside Boulevard, Oceanside, CA 92058, 6-10 PM. The 19-year scholarship fundraiser has afforded the organization to award over $125,000 to young women, particularly capable students in need. This year's theme, Harlem Nights, evokes an era whose time will be celebrated. As in the past, community leaders will serve as judges for competing amateur and professional male chefs who prepare delectable appetizers, entrées and desserts to the delight of a sellout crowd of guests. The people's choice is among the favorite of awards for the chefs. Entertainment this year will be provided by the outstanding Mira Costa MoJo Jazz Band and feet will be stomping at the Savoy with an intermittent, Hi de, Hi de, Hi de Ho. You won’t want to miss regaling in period attire with North County’s finest community members contributing as donors or ticket holders at $50 per person. A fun silent auction will be featured and there is still time to join as a chef, sponsor or supporter with an ad or donation. Visit www.ncaawa.org or call for more information at 760.978.6534.
