Event Description: Benny Golson Instrumental Jazz, Saturday, May 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the Concert Hall (Bldg. 2400). Admission is $20; students/seniors/staff, $15. Legendary saxophonist and composer Benny Golson will perform with the MiraCosta Oceanside Jazz Orchestra (MOJO) and the MiraCosta Jazz Collective. Golson has performed alongside John Coltrane, Benny Goodman, Art Blakey and Dizzy Gillespie. He founded the historic Jazztet, and composed standards such as Killer Joe, I Remember Clifford, Blues March, and Whisper Not. Golson will also present a free master class earlier in the day.
