Event Description: The Oceanside Yacht Club (OYC) is hosting the seventh annual Charity Regatta to benefit The Elizabeth Hospice August 7-9 at the OYC located at 1950 Harbor Drive North in Oceanside. The regatta and all activities are open to the public. The three-day event commences with a dinner buffet on Friday, August 7 at the OYC at 5pm. Sailboat races will be held on Saturday and Sunday and a silent auction and raffle will run through the weekend and end at 5pm on Sunday. A fishing tournament with both team and individual entries will be held on Saturday, August 8 starting at 6:30am. The $100 package fee for sailboat racing or the fishing tournament includes registration, merchandise, raffle tickets and two dinner tickets valid Saturday or Sunday. Register by August 1. If fishing and racing is not your preference, but you enjoy the ocean, you can watch from a spectator boat. A $100 donation includes up close viewing of the race start and finish on the race committee boat, merchandise, raffle tickets and two dinner tickets for Saturday or Sunday. Experience the races as a crewmember or relax while observing the races from a luxury powerboat. Please call by August 1 to specify the date and type of boat. Join us for a weekend full of festivities that include an array of tastes from local restraurants, music from local bands and silent auction items from local merchants that will benefit community members receiving hospice services.
