Event Description: The Annual Oceanside Harbor Days event will be held September 28 and 29th, 2013. This event is hosted by the City of Oceanside, Oceanside Chamber of Commerce and presented by USAA and Genentech. Attendees can enjoy a wide variety of events and attractions and soak in the fun. The event features over 220 arts and craft exhibits, a great food court and a beer garden sponsored by Prohibition Brewing Company. With a fishing derby, beauty pageant, Tiki Swim and more, Harbor Days never runs out of fun! Debuting this year, the 1st annual Sand Castle competition will be held on Saturday, September 28th. “Fun in the Sand” is sponsored by the Harbor Merchants Association and promises to be a big hit. Several popular bands will be performing on our main stage including The Fabulous Rudies, Blue Zone, Gone Blonde, Jamie Beeman, The New Riders Band, Fusion Beat and The Fabulous Woodies. Also performing will be Karate for Kids and Dance Unlimited. In a salute to our military, vehicles from Camp Pendleton’s Mechanized Museum will be on display on the Harbor Beach. Don’t miss Saturday evening’s boat parade! The Oceanside Yacht Club is sponsoring a Boat Parade beginning at 6:00 p.m. Visit one of the Harbor Village’s restaurants for dinner or drinks and enjoy this new and fun event! Always a crowd favorite, Sunday’s "Nail and Sail" competition draws thousands of spectators. Teams race to build a boat from scratch and then two person teams must row across the harbor and back. Don’t miss the fun to see who will sink first or if there will be a new reigning champion! Be sure to take advantage of free parking at the Transit Center and take the double decker busses to the Harbor. They’ll be running all weekend and are free! Harbor Days is free to the public and is hosted by the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce and Oceanside Harbor District and presented by USAA and Genentech.
