Event Description: Daytime Bus Excursion of the County of San Diego Art Collection, June 1 Recently Jay Johnson completed a major Artifact Display Project at the new San Diego County Operations Center office buildings that involves recontextualizing archival materials into engaging educational and installations. The displays include County-owned and staff donated memorabilia, ephemera and vintage items that are obsolete or still in use, actual or digital. Join Johnson and Public Art Consultant Gail Goldman for a private tour of the County of San Diego Art Collection in Kearney Mesa that will explore over 30 works of art by established San Diego and international artists. Featured artists include Jay Johnson, Anne Mudge, Joyce Cutler Shaw, William Glen Crooks, Phillip Scholz Rittermann, Ellen Salk, Gail Roberts and Christopher Puzio, among others. Tickets for this daytime bus trip are $50 for members and $60 for nonmembers and include a boxed lunch. The bus will depart from OMA on Saturday, June 1 at 10:00 a.m. and return at approximately 4:00 p.m. Call (760) 435-3721 for reservations.
