Event Description: Join Dave Hampton, guest curator of Contemporary Art Wins a Beachhead: The La Jolla School of Art, 1960-1964, and former La Jolla School of Arts faculty and students April 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. during “Remembering the Art Center in La Jolla,” an informal conversation about what it was like to take classes and attend exhibition openings at the Art Center and the prevailing culture and environment in the early 1960s, before that institution became the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego. The discussion is free for OMA members, students and military and complimentary with admission.
