Event Description: March 31 at The Brooks - Tom Morrow’s ‘OSO’ Big Band in Concert as a fundraiser for Oceanside Theatre Company! The Oceanside Theatre Company is pleased to announce the upcoming live concert of Tom Morrow's 'OSO' Big Band on March 31 at The Brooks, 217 N. Coast Hwy, Oceanside. Tickets are now on sale on the website at www.oceansidetheatre.org or by calling the box office at 760 433-8900. There will be a Wine Reception at 6pm with the Concert beginning at 7pm. Tickets are $14 for General Admission and $12 for Seniors/Students and Military. All proceeds will go directly to help the Oceanside Theatre Company, the new non-profit resident theatre group at The Brooks which is offering exceptional quality theatre and classes. The OSO Big Band is considered one of Southern California’s top musical ensembles. The ensemble is composed of professional and semi-professional musicians, many of whom played with many of the bands of the Big Band Era. If you haven't seen them perform 'live' yet - you must come and catch their concert at The Brooks as they are amazing. The 'OSO' (which stand for Oceanside Society Orchestra!) has samples of their music on their website at www.theosobigband.com along with photos of the group. We are also pleased that joining them as a singer this year is Oceanside Theatre Company Youth Academy Director Deborah Dodaro, just seen in "stellar production" (NC Times) of 'Dirty Rotten Scoundrels' at MiraCosta College. The Oceanside Theatre Company just held their first production in December and received high marks: ". . . the new resident company at Sunshine Brooks Theatre delivers impressively with professional-caliber direction, acting, costumes and special effects . . . " (Pam Kragen, NC Times); ". . . audience members had plenlty of kudos . . . Marley was mesmerizing" said one resident in Coast News piece by Promise Yee; and Oceanside Theatre Company ended the year with a 'Rose' from NC Times: "A 'love of the arts' rose - A rose to the Oceanside Theatre Company, which recently won a bid to run the city-owned Sunshine Brooks Theatre largely on its promise to fix up the building. They've already done a good job of cleaning the theater, which opened in 1936 ---- and staged their first production, a Christmas-themed show. And all of this since taking the keys on Nov. 1. Such quick results are a promising start to a new relationship between the Oceanside Theatre Company and the city."
