Solutions for Change

Solutions for Change provides access to the skills, knowledge, and resources homeless families need to regain their physical, emotional, and economic health and permanently solve their homelessness. The adults—once securely housed and their children in school—participate in Solutions University, a 700-day program to identify and eradicate the core issues that caused each family to become homeless. Solutions coaches work with residents to create a program tailored to each person’s needs.

Solutions University is a unique and highly successful effort that has garnered national attention and recognition. Since 1999, Solutions has guided more than 600 families and their 1200 children to a permanent solution to their homelessness, while saving taxpayers an estimated $32 million in public support costs. Solutions for Change is an expression of the community’s commitment to permanently solving family homeless, for the benefit of the adults, their children, and the community.
