Scholarship Prep

Scholarship Prep is an innovative, independent free public charter school offering academic rigor to TK-8th grade students. Founded by Senator Gloria Romero (Ret.) and Jason Watts, the school is located on the site of Oceanside's historic San Luis Rey Mission. Our academic program incorporates Project-Based Learning, offering all students "real world" educational learning environments. In addition to the strong academic rigor, students choose elective classes in athletics and/or the arts, learn Mandarin as a world language, and utilize technology in their classroom learning. Utilizing a university-inspired concept, our scholars understand that by achieving academic, athletic, and/or arts excellence, a broader array of possibilities and options exist for future endeavors in higher education, thus our motto, “Reach higher. Dream bigger.” Ultimately, our goal is that EVERY student will utilize these scholarship pathways to be better prepared for their college experiences.
