MCCCD Begins Bond Measure MM Construction on Oceanside and San Elijo Campuses The first construction projects funded by Measure MM have broken ground at the MiraCosta Community College District's campuses in Oceanside and San Elijo. Measure MM is a $455 million general obligation bond to modernize aging facilities and upgrade industrial technology. The bond measure was approved by district voters in November, 2016. Two of the current projects will provide temporary office and classroom space which will be utilized during modernization projects that will be built at a later date. On the North side of the Oceanside Campus, two modular buildings are now under construction. One modular will house ten faculty offices. The other modular will host a computer lab classroom. On the San Elijo campus, construction is taking place to erect a modular office building, a modular classroom and a modular restroom. Both projects are scheduled to be completed by mid-August, 2018. The third project is on the San Elijo campus. The B600 building is being modernized. The project includes remodeling classroom spaces including partial elements of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, new roofing, flooring and ceilings. In addition, existing concrete paving will be revised to meet ADA requirements. Construction is scheduled to be completed by January 1, 2019.
