MiraCosta College and Innovate 78 Present Link to San Diego: Life Sciences MiraCosta College, in collaboration with Innovate 78, will present a panel discussion and networking reception for people looking to land a job in San Diego’s life sciences industry on May 16 from 5–7 p.m. on the Oceanside Campus located at 1 Barnard Drive. San Diego companies are recognized around the world for curing diseases, saving lives, and drumming up innovative solutions for the world's most pressing health challenges. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn about how they can prepare for a meaningful career in the life sciences. Representatives from three of San Diego’s most innovative companies, BD, Human Longevity, and Genentech, will tell their career development stories, share their insights and speak about what drives them in their day-to-day. Students of all backgrounds and disciplines are encouraged to attend this free event. San Diegan J. Craig Center was the first person to map the entire human genome back in 2000. His company, Human Longevity, will be represented at Link to San Diego: Life Sciences. BD, a fortune 500 company, manufactures medical devices that allow hospitals around the world to run smoothly and safely. With more than 50,000 employees (3,000 in San Diego!) across 50 countries, BD provides innovative solutions that advance medical research worldwide. Representatives from BD will speak about the local industry. For more than 40 years, Genentech has been seeking solutions to unmet medical needs, making medicines to treat patients with serious medical conditions. With over 15,000 employees globally and more than 20,000 patents, Genentech is a global leader in biotechnology.
