MiraCosta College Offers Community Education Courses in Enrichment Activities MiraCosta College’s Community Education is offering the following enrichment, not-for-credit, courses this spring: Landscaping with California Native Plants Create a sense of place and habitat using California's own heritage that will ultimately benefit your purse, your home and the planet. We will focus on 20 native California plant species, their uses, care and maintenance without chemicals or additives. Students will design a landscape and supplemental irrigation system through lecture and hands-on design sessions. Fee: $60. Early Bird Special: $50 (Register BEFORE 3/28 for this rate). Supplies: A $14 material fee will be collected in class for handouts and course materials. Location: San Elijo Campus, 3333 Manchester Ave., Room 406. Time: 2 Saturdays, 4/7-4/14, 9 AM-12 PM. Savory and Healthy Gluten Free Meals Think outside of your pots and pans. Join Brazilian cook Djana Venolia as she brings her joyful Amazonian background approach to cooking healthy yet flavorful foods. Each day, you will learn different recipes. Day 1: Cheese bread and chicken pot pie, Day 2: Sweet and salty pizza party, Day 3: Crepe and brownie. You will learn how to use new and old ingredients and combine them into nutritious meals that even your kids will love to eat. Fee: $90. Early Bird Special: $80 (Register BEFORE 4/21 for this rate).
