MiraCosta College Art Exhibit, ‘The Dazzle of Day’ MiraCosta College presents an exhibit featuring the woks of artists Shane Anderson, Craig Carlson, and Paul Turounet. The show, “The Dazzle of Day,” opened February 6 and continues through March 2 in the college’s Kruglak Gallery. This exhibition proposes to offer a visual pause of contemplation and reflection on the current state of the contemporary social landscape. A richness of conceptual consideration and visual exploration will be revealed with such investigations of the natural landscape and its relationship with the urban experience in Shane Anderson’s Del Rio series, the dislocation of the pavement, and as seen in Craig Carlson’s multiple series from Los Angeles, including Sunset Boulevard and Urban Pedestrians, as well as selections from Paul Turounet’s ongoing series, Somewhere Out There Something Is Happening, which explores the notion of our “inherent spirit” and the psyche of the contemporary American scene during a time of hope and change. Admission to the gallery is free and open to the public. MiraCosta College’s Kruglak Art Gallery is located on the Oceanside Campus in the Student Center, Bldg. 3400, at 1 Barnard Drive. The Kruglak Gallery offers a diverse range of contemporary exhibitions of interest to both students and the general public. Gallery hours are Monday and Tuesday, 2:30–7:30 p.m., and Wednesday–Friday, 11 a.m.–3 p.m. The gallery is closed February 16 and 19.
