MiraCosta College Board to Make Appointment to Vacant Trustee Seat MiraCosta Community College District’s Board of Trustees announced today that it will accept letters of interest with statements of qualifications for appointment to fill a board vacancy created by the resignation of board member Jeanne Shannon as of September 1. Shannon’s term ends in November 2018. Those interested in an appointment to the vacant trustee position for the remainder of Shannon’s term may submit a letter of interest and resume to Dr. Sunita V. Cooke, superintendent/president, MiraCosta College District, 1 Barnard Drive, Oceanside, CA 92056 no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2017. While not required, candidates may also submit a letter of recommendation as a part of their application package. Letters of interest will be reviewed for the following characteristics: commitment to enhancement and further development of MiraCosta College; familiarity with community; familiarity with college; commitment to higher education; enhancement of current board’s skills base; and added value that the candidate brings. On Tuesday, October 10, the college will notify candidates of open interviews. Open interviews will be held at a Board of Trustees special meeting on Thursday, October 19 at 1 p.m. Interested applicants must reside in MiraCosta Community College Trustee.
