The duo that brought you Local Tap House is proud to bring you Exhale Oceanside. Using his talents of crafting comfort food, Chef Daniel has created his version of Modern American Wood Fired Cuisine. Fueled by a vision to serve fresh, artisanal farm to table food, Exhale Oceanside is keeping to its roots using as many local vendors and farms including Cyclops Organic Farms, and Teri Campus Life. Exploring unique flavors and preparation, Chef Daniel displays a depth of talent and love of food that you can taste in every dish. From rustic bread bowl cioppinos to vegan lettuce wraps, and charred asparagus with prosciutto. The simple complexity of the food Chef has created is as diverse as it is delicious. The Opah comes from our neighboring waters in Baja and the Swordfish is locally caught. Our 32oz Bone-in Ribeye exemplifies family-style dining, it is grilled to perfection topped with homemade truffle butter and the presentation is complete with tableside service of freshly shaved truffles. We are excited to share what we believe Wood Fired Cuisine is all about.

      Wow!
We ordered the Swordfish which was perfection and Pizza which was delicious but the cheese & toppings would slide off easily but I still ate the whole pie!

The Pete drink was also full of flavor.
We returned the next night & I got the surf & turf tacos...small but amazing taste with Aoli sauce. I did request no onions & the bartender brought it out to me with onions so staff service is eh from hostess stand to staff but then again they were busy.

I highly reccomend as the Chef creations are undeniably the best around.

When they first changed their menu, their cioppino was bomb! We came back several times after the new menu and the cioppino is now different. It's overly sweet. The seafood is still good and so is the bread, but the rue is soo sweet. So gross.

Their spicy soppressata pizza is still bomb! Our favorite thing to get. We've also tried the brother from another pizza, that one was delicious. The Chinese sausage one was disgusting. It was creamy and tasted weird. Avoid that one. We couldn't eat it all. Their filet mignon fried rice is a good one. So some items on the menu is a hit or miss. Next time we want to try the tomahawk. Can't stomach to pay that price yet... not sure if it'll be a hit or miss like some of their menu items.

Cocktails are always good. My favorite is the strawberry fields. Service is always friendly and good. Our go to when LTH is really busy.

Came here with a big group for a work dinner and it was just perfect. We got there at 6:15 and our waiter reminded us to get drinks and appetizers ASAP since it's happy hour until 6:30. Drinks including these awesome cocktails are 50% off!! Service was great as well. Absolutely no complaints. I even forgot the itemized receipt, called back and had it texted to me.
The food was also great - you know everyone is enjoying the food when the whole table is completely quiet once they started eating. We had shishito peppers, baked Brie, and the caprese. Everything was delicious. I got the filet mignon and lobster fried rice, which was amazing. And then we got a s'mores pizza for the table. Just a perfect meal! And the portions were really sizable too.
The ambience is really good. Very modern and with a see-through kitchen.

Passed by this restaurant a lot of times but have never dined here. As we waited for our friends to meet us we decided to have drinks at Exhale.

Nice size restaurant and open. Outside seating available and bar stools too.

We opt to sit outside on the Coast Hwy side so that we can see our friends arrive.

We both had bourbon on the rocks.
      Yummy! I love dark alcohol.

We looked at the menu and was pleasantly surprised of the great dishes.
I will definitely return to give them a try.

      P.S.
There was an issue regarding one of our drinks and the bartender apologized and took care of it.

I love how Oceanside is just full of new, hip and fun places. This place had me at Happy Hour-- EVERYDAY!
My friends and I went on a Saturday during happy hour (4-6pm). Their food menu and drinks were great. Since it was craft cocktails, you can tell they were made to perfection. For food, we got the nachos, and a bunch of pizza! Note to the brussel sprout lovers-- it's a pizza with them. My friend thought it was just a bowl of brussel sprouts . Check out the drinks I posted for photos. I'd say 4.5 just because they were a little slower on the service although they weren't packed. You can also make reservations too!

Came here with a group of girls for Sunday brunch. They have bottomless mimosas here for $18. I loved the indoor/outdoor seating and that they had live music when we were there.

The brunch menu was fairly limited (pizzas, biscuits, or hash), but we ended up ordering the Cowboy, Sausage, Egg & Cheese Pizza, and the Farmers Frittata.

Cowboy: I loved the buttermilk fried chicken that came with it. It was a large portion and mixed with the gravy and sunny side egg was a perfect mash. I wasn't a fan of the biscuits though. They tasted more like corn bread and not the flaky buttery biscuits I'm used to.

Sausage, Egg & Cheese Pizza: This tasted amazing. The hollandaise sauce was tasty and they didn't skimp on the mushrooms or sausage!

Farmers Frittata: One of the more healthier options on the menu. It comes with egg whites, asparagus, avocado, and sweet potatoes. Presentation was really pretty.

I think this place is definitely more of a dinner spot. I looked over the Exhale dinner menu and it looked much more appetizing then what was offered for brunch. I would come back just to try the dinner options.

Note: There's a small parking lot off to the side of the restaurant with signage for Exhale patrons.

Mike-y's back in town! But... he's no longer at Campfire, which means he's in walking distance from my home! Good thing because he's one of SoCal's best kept secrets! I'm always VERY pleased with Mikey's cocktail concoctions.
Now for the food... well, all I can say is excellent, excellent, excellent!

It was worth the trip to venture up to Oceanside last week to check out this new eatery. The restaurant is casual, bright and inviting- with seating outside as well. Their was interesting artwork on the bar, but it's hard to see since people were sitting there.

Our group got to try the masa fried cauliflower, warm chips and molcajete salsa, guacamole with chorizo, the trio of mole and organic blue corn tortillas, birria, mole verde, beet tacos, mole negro, chile verde, pescado pibel, and mole oaxaca. Every single dish was vibrant and colorful. The presentation of each item was also so beautiful! Everything I ate that night was delicious, but if I had to chose a favorite, mine would be the bone-in pork tomahawk steak. It was extremely flavorful and very tasty.

For drinks, I went with the Aloe Place, which is essentially a margarita made with aloe vera juice. It came with a charcoal salt rim, so it looked cool and I enjoyed it a lot. Everyone else opted for the Tell Me I'm Pretty, Ain't Going Down Til The Sun Comes Up, Six Ways To Sunday, This Could Be Love, and some other drink (can't remember the name). This Could Be Love was yummy and tasted like candy- I tried the nonalcoholic version as well.

For dessert, we shared the coffee gelato and some churros. The churros was nicely presented and both desserts were divine. I'm still dreaming about the gelato... On the way to the bathroom, you can see the staff working in the kitchen. There is a lady in charge of the tortillas and it was fun to watch her make them. Even the bathroom has heart designs on the flooring and cute heart rocks in the sink. Service was excellent- I can't wait to dine here again!

more "busy" food from Chef Daniel Elliott (of LTH fame). after the upscale-Mexican incarnation didn't catch on, the menu's been reworked to attract a broader audience.

the drinks, an Afternoon Quickie (tamarindo vodka, ginger beer, bitters, and dried lime) and a vodka Martini were both good. the food Blistered Asparagus (prosciutto, shaved parmesan, and a sunny egg), the Lobster Empanada, and the Japanese Blackened Opah (with a shrimp dumpling, stuffed squash blossoms, zucchini noodles, and won ton strips) were all delicious but suffered from a lack of editing.

the food's good, very good but should come with the same brief warning as dishes at LTH: Exhale is NOT my kid's favorite place. their tastes are plenty sophisticated but the food here is way too busy. like most of us, the kitchen needs editing. what to leave out is often as important as what to leave in. if you doubt that, watch a movie starring and directed by Barbara Streisand. Bruce Willis's Hudson Hawk's another cautionary tale. we all need somebody looking over our shoulder from time-to-time.

This is a perfect spot to bring a date or to watch a game or just hangout with friends and grab a drink and some yummy food.
Came here for a girls brunch day on a Sunday. To our surprise it wasn't busy for 11ish o clock on a Sunday. We were seated right away. Our waitress was kind and friendly when we asked her opinion on drinks and food. I ordered the delicious egg, cheese, and sausage pizza. Should be called the Breakfast Pizza. Had sage, hollandaise sauce, wild mushrooms, lots of mozzarella (love cheesy things) and the egg is sunny side up but I requested egg whites only. It was jam packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. Thin crust and slightly crispy. Generous with all the toppings. I only ate half of it and took the rest home for dinner :)
I was with 3 other gals and they all enjoyed their food. Only complaint was from one of the girls was her biscuit dish, I think she got the Cowboy or Link soul, not tasting like a biscuit. I tried it and agreed with her. It's tasted more like corn bread. Nonetheless it still tasted amazing to me! She didn't eat all of the biscuit part so I ate the rest. :)
Last couple of things, they have live music on the weekends, designated parking spots but if full will need to park elsewhere, and they offer bottomless mimosas on Saturdays and Sundays. Didn't drink since I was sick but next time I'll get my drink on!

Sausage, egg, and cheese pizza! So good! :)
